February might be the shortest month, but with 8 events in 10 cities, it’s been an insanely crazy and wonderful month. After visiting the Princeton, NJ Barnes and Noble, I had a much-needed week off (from book-related events) where thankfully my day job gave me plenty of time to sleep. (In case my employer is reading this, I’m kidding… sort of.)
February 6: One of my best interviews after the release of Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star was by $PREAD Magazine. (I’ve posted a pdf of the original article in the left sidebar of this blog). So I was honored when Rachel Aimee, $PREAD’s editor-in-chief invited me to read from Code of Conduct at the launch event for $PREAD’s issue 3.4 at Bluestockings Bookstore in Manhattan’s East Village.
When I arrived, the crowd was spilling onto the sidewalk. No doubt many had gathered to hear the women’s stories of their adventures while working as peep show performers, erotic dancers and other parts of the sex industry. I was the final speaker, and the only guy, but after listening to the other speakers and feeling the warm reception of the audience, I couldn’t wait for my turn to read and the crowd didn’t disappoint. The group at Bluestockings was one of the most enthusiastic of the tour (they were also the youngest crowd I’ve read for, maybe that’s part of the reason).
I was able to take many photos at the event. Click here to see the rest of them.
Oh yeah, and you can see Audacia Ray’s LiveGirl vide review of Code of Conduct by clicking here.
