I’ll give away samplers with the first four chapters.  Reading will be video recorded and posted on YouTube.  Hope you can make it! I’ll be reading with two other writers.  Here’s the promotional:

Janice Eidus’ new novel, The War of the Rosens, is hot off the press and has already garnered much critical acclaim. She’s twice won the O. Henry Prize for Short Fiction, and has published five other books, including the award-winning short story collection, The Celibacy Club. She writes frequently (whimsically, seriously, & iconoclastically) about Jewish identity, popular culture, sex and gender, and being a writer/parent. Visit her online at www.janiceeidus.com.

Rich Merritt is an ex-fundamentalist, a former Marine and a recovering attorney with occasional relapses into practicing law. He’s most (in)famous for his brief stint in porn in 1995 and the Advocate’s subsequent “outing” of him in a 1999 cover story headlined “The Marine Who Did Gay Porn.” He appeared on the cover of the New York Times Magazine in a 1998 feature story by Jennifer Egan titled “Uniforms in the Closet: TheShadow Life of a Gay Marine.” His memoir, Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star, was voted The Best Erotic Memoir of 2005 by the Insight Out Book Club. He’s been featured / slandered in many other publications including: The Weekly Standard, the LA Times, the Daily Post and The Times of London. He was fired from his job for writing his memoir, the best publicity stunt ever. Rich will be reading from his upcoming novel, Code of Conduct, a story about a group of Marines struggling to survive in the middle of apolitical power struggle between President Clinton and his enemies in 1993. Recently, Rich has been sighted blogging at www.RichMerritt.com.

Anthony Moscowitz is a writer living in New York City. His essays on film, pop culture and music have been seen in The NY Press, Salon.com and Maxim. He is currently studying the Pick-Up Artist phenomenon and is the MC for “Pillow Talk With Anthony Moscowitz” at Rififi. Anthony is one of many character creations by Livia Scott, praised by the Comedy Central Insideras a “chameleon extraordinaire” and nominated by readers of The Apiary as Best Performer of 2006. She has been featured in Time Out New York, Gawker, The New York Times, and credits include Late Night With Conan O’Brien,”Honesty” on Comedy Central, and the all-female sketch comedy phenomenon MEAT. Livia is also the creator of the Time Out NY critic’s pick, “Livia’s Castle of Enchantment,” a popular comedy-variety show in which she MCs as different dead celebrities brought back to life by magic, playing at MoPitkin’s on the first Friday of every month at 7:30. www.Livialand.com
